George W. Truett Theological Seminary Levi Price received a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University in 1964. While at Baylor, he was a football varsity letterman. He graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in 1972 and a Doctor of Ministry degree in 1976. Levi married the former Luethyl (Lu) Dawkins in May 1962. The Prices have two married children: Timothy, who works at the Methodist Children's Home in Waco; and Sara, who is a pastor's wife and secondary school teacher. The Prices also have three granddaughters. Levi served in the United States Marine Corps, 1965-1968, serving in Vietnam, 1966-1967. He reached the rank of Captain and received a battlefield commendation Dr. Price served as pastor of four Baptist Chruches: Hillcrest Baptist Church, Richmond, California; Harvard Terrace Baptist Church, Fresno, California; Park Victoria Baptist Church, Milpitas, California; and 17 years as pastor of First Baptist Church, El Paso, Texas. He and his wife also served with the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, serving as Seminary Extension Director in Mexico. Levi served various positions in the California Baptist Convention, including vice-president, and various positions in the Baptist General Convention of Texas, including chair of the Executive Board of the BGCT. Dr. Price also has served as a Baylor Regent, member and chair of the Advisory Board of Truett Seminary, Hispanic Baptist Seminary (now University of the Americas), Baptist Spanish Publishing House, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Prison Fellowship, Walk to Emmaus Fellowship, Grievance Committee of the State Bar of Texas, Board of El Paso YMCA, Board of Ecumenical Aid to Transients (CEAT), Administrative Committee of the BGCT, Baptist Foundation of California, Committee on Boards of the Southern Baptist Convention, and President of Paisano Baptist Encampment. Dr. Price has preached at the California Baptist Convention, the New Mexico Baptist Convention, and three times at the Baptist General Convention of Texas. In 2004, he was keynote speaker at the Mexican Baptist Convention (of Mexico). Levi has preached often at churches and encampments. Levi has led conferences and been consultant for churches and associations in the areas of Strategic Planning, Deacons, Search Committees, and Conflict Resolution. |
